VERY RARE Original Italian Photobusta (Italian lobby card) 13" x 13", paper stock, very good condition, minor edge wear, pinholes in the borders, slightly enlarged (see scan). There is a small piece of paint on the lower rhs of the photobusta (see scan) just above the Columbia logo – possibly to cover censor or distributor details. This film was an important record of an Australian classic Aviation film depicting the life of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and his exploits in the Southern Cross.
 
These Photobustas are very rare and depict scenes from the movie that are not shown in US lobby cards.

Smithy is a 1946 Australian film about pioneering Australian aviator Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and his flight across the Pacific Ocean, from San Francisco, California, United States to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia during 1928. This was the first-ever trans-Pacific flight. Kingsford Smith was the pilot of the Fokker F.VII/3m three-engine monoplane "Southern Cross", with Australian aviator Charles Ulm as the relief pilot. The other two crew members were Americans James Warner and Harry Lyon.
The film was released in the UK as The Southern Cross and in the US as Pacific Adventure.
