Title: Walkabout (1971)
Stars: Jenny Agutter, David Gulpilil
Walkabout is a visually stunning film that follows the journey of two British siblings, played by Jenny Agutter and Luc Roeg, who find themselves stranded in the Australian outback after a tragic event. They are rescued by a young Aboriginal boy, played by David Gulpilil, who helps them survive in the harsh desert environment.
The performances by Agutter, Gulpilil, and Roeg are captivating, as they navigate the cultural divide between the Western world and the indigenous Australian way of life. Agutter delivers a powerful performance as she grapples with the challenges of survival and the growing bond with the Aboriginal boy. Gulpilil, in his first acting role, shines as the resourceful and enigmatic young guide who leads them through the vast and unforgiving landscape.
