Spawn of the Slithis (1978)

Movie Review: Spawn of the Slithis

The 1978 horror film Spawn of the Slithis is a low-budget creature feature that has gained a cult following over the years. The film follows a small coastal town that is terrorized by a mysterious creature known as the Slithis. As the body count rises, a group of locals band together to try and stop the monster before it claims even more victims.

Stars

The film features a relatively unknown cast, with actors such as Alan Blanchard, J.C. Claire, and Dennis Falt all taking on key roles. While they may not be household names, the cast does a decent job of bringing the characters to life and adding some emotional depth to the otherwise cheesy script. Blanchard, in particular, shines as the reluctant hero who must face his fears to overcome the Slithis.

Movie Posters

The movie posters for Spawn of the Slithis are classic examples of 1970s exploitation cinema. One poster features a close-up of the Slithis monster, with its slimy green skin and sharp teeth striking fear into the viewer. Another poster showcases a group of terrified townspeople running in terror from the creature, capturing the suspense and horror of the film.

Spawn of the Slithis is a fun and entertaining B-movie that delivers plenty of thrills and chills for fans of creature features. While the acting and special effects may not be top-notch, the film has a certain charm that has made it a favorite among horror aficionados. If you’re looking for a nostalgic trip back to the heyday of low-budget horror cinema, Spawn of the Slithis is definitely worth a watch.
