RARE Original hand litho Australian daybill 13" x 30" folded as issued, very good condition, minor edge wear, a couple of small edge tears on the lower rh corner repaired with archival tape on the back (see enlarged photo).
NOTE: Although serial collectors would love to have seen full colour daybills printed for the Columbia serials, all that exists for many is duotone daybills. The serials were popular but always second features and did not warrant a full colour daybill.

The Vigilante was the 33rd serial released by Columbia Pictures. It was based on the comic book cowboy, The Vigilante, who first appeared in Action Comics, and starred Ralph Byrd, well known for his central role in the Dick Tracy serials. It was his last ever serial appearance.
NOTE: The Comic Strip character Adrian Chase aka Vigilante, was based on the Columbia serial character. Chase was a lawyer who took to fighting criminals after his family was slain by gangsters, and who took his own life after his true identity was revealed on national TV.
