Frank Sinatra recorded it a few years later in 1947 and it became the definitive rendition of the song. Many have tried but no one has matched Sinatras version. "One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)" was an example of Johnny Mercers great talent as a lyricist complimenting Harold Arlens music.
